Interests

Travel is my main interest in life. As much of my free time as possible is spent traveling the world or reading travel literature to decide what to explore next. I think it is important to learn as much about the world as possible to have any chance of improving it and fixing its problems. I enjoy hiking, yoga, meditation, poetry and the arts. I appreciate good wine, coffee and beer and enjoy exploring how these beverages vary throughout the world. I have an interest in genealogy which manifested itself from exploring my family history with my Grandfather and continuing with his research using the web. I am currently attempting to learn French but am finding it much trickier than any programming language I have ever encountered. I am an avid creative writer in my spare time, working on getting a book published.
